Fear

14 06 2007

The 300 jr has had an incredible psychological effect on me. I have spent nine weeks in fear. Always knowing that it was around the corner. That the further we got along with the workouts the closer we were to it! Yikes!

But then I realized that discipline cannot allow to be overruled by fear. Inherent in the definition of discipline, fear is over come with courage.

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Eleanor Roosevelt (1884 – 1962)
